About Us – The Barefoot Team

Find out who is looking out for you Barefoot Tours

Your Barefoot guides have all been involved in tourism and tour guiding for many years. They have traveled extensively throughout Australia and the world, finally settling down in one of their favourite places, Cairns in the beautiful Far North Queensland.

If you are looking for things to do in Cairns, ask your guide for some advice about Cairns… Cairns has so much to see and do, you’ll soon see why we at Barefoot Tours love Cairns so much!

Your Barefoot guides are all excellent swimmers with experience in water safety, so if you tend to impersonate a rock while swimming, don’t worry, you’re in pretty good hands.

  • First Aid & CPR trained
  • Police check (proven to be okay)
  • Water safety/rescue skills
  • Know how to have fun
  • Love to laugh
  • Cheeky, slightly non-PC humor
  • Can make a good sandwich 😉

Tour Guide

Dylan comes with a bucket load of laughs, excitement, adventure and so much more – all the ingredients for an epic trip with us. Safety is also one of his top priorities and you will recognize this with his sharp life guarding skills that he’s been working on since the age of 17 or 18 (7 years ago). Dylan has also completed training in fitness, sports medicine and yoga. Loving his positive, vibrant attitude and we can’t wait to see what he has instore for us.

Captain Matty

Tour Guide

Captain Matty is back on the road, and has been working for Barefoot Tours since opening in 2010 (with a short break in between). Full of fun, adventure, passion and entertainment no two days is ever the same with Matty.  His one-of-a-kind outrageous personality will have you in stitches all day. He is definitely one of our top 3 tour guides here at Barefoot Tours.

Brendan Bruce the tour guide
Brendan aka Brucey

Tour Guide

Rocking the Fro!!! He answers to many different names including Brendan, Brandon, Brucey, Legend, Shit guide… just to name a few! A keen boatsman… Brucey also works for himself with his lovely lady Lisa, doing private fishing & snorkelling trips in Cairns for small groups of 5-8 people. Brucey loves a laugh, he’s super outgoing, loves a joke and some good ol’ banter… and of course he’s a little bit Bogan (What’s an Aussie tour guide without the typical Aussie rocking attitude?), he has a cracking personality and will definately be the light of your day! Another one of our top 3 guides here at Barefoot!

Reservations & Officework

Started with Barefoot Tours back in July 2017, excited and passionate for tourism in Cairns. Chelsea has traveled solo to more than 20 something’ countries before the age of 21. She moved to Cairns around 5 years ago where her career advanced in Tourism. She is trained in first aid, rescue, fire and survival at sea. Her previous jobs included working as Dive Master out on the Great Barrier Reef, Educational Tourism for groups, Local travel agent and Event Coordination for Tourism. Chelsea met her man Farley around 3 years ago and decided she couldn’t part with Cairns or Farley.

Paper pusher, “Role model”… We are not too sure what to call him! Future Vlogger – when he starts his Vlog!

Farley is a true local, born and breed in Cairns. Super fun, outgoing, adventurous and full of energy. Farley works elsewhere however on his weekends you can occasionally find him out on tour with us, playing tourist in his home turf, taking his dog for a swim at one of Cairns many water holes or riding his motorbike up the coast with the boys. Farley also participates in most of the beach clean ups we do around Cairns on a monthly/bi-monthly basis.
